Plamenka Trajkovska String Quartet to give Strauss concert

Debar, 30 September 2025 (MIA) -- To mark the bicentenial of Johann Strauss II's birth, Plamenka Trajkovska String Quartet will give a special Strauss concert of waltzes and polkas at the Debar Cultural Center.

 

According to organizers, the string quartet is one of the busiest chamber ensembles in the country, often performing at festivals such as Skopje Summer, Bit Fest, Shtip Cultural Summer, Petrovden Handshakes, Warm Cultural Wave, Karamanov Meetings, Kavadarci Cultural Autumn, Veles Cultural Summer and Fall Music Festivities.

 

Recently, Plamenka Trajkovska String Quartet performed in Sofia and Sozopol, Bulgaria, and promoted its latest single, "Balkan Song 11." The ensemble has also given concerts in Croatia, France, Greece, Serbia, Tanzania and Turkiye.

 

The Debar concert was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Debar Cultural Center.

 

Johann Strauss II (1825-1899), also known as Johann Strauss Jr., is one of the most famous Austrian composers of the 19th century. He composed dance music, including over 500 waltzes, polkas and quadrilles as well as several operettas and a ballet. mr/
