Skopje, 26 February 2026 (MIA) — The Philharmonic will give a "New Horizons" concert at 8 pm featuring acclaimed Kazakhstan-born pianist Alim Beisembayev as soloist.
The concert program consists of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Opus 23 and Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" Suite No. 2. The orchestra will be conducted by Emil Tabakov.

Emil Tabakov (b. 1947, Ruse, Bulgaria) is a renowned conductor, composer and double-bass player. He completed his education at the Bulgarian State Music Academy in Sofia, where he studied conducting under Vladi Simeonov, double bass under Todor Toshev and composition under Marin Goleminov. A prolific composer, he has created ten symphonies, a Requiem and various concertos. He was named Bulgarian "Musician of the Year" in 1992 and has an extensive discography with Naxos.

Alim Beisembayev (b. 1998, Almaty, Kazakhstan) attended music schools in Kazakhstan and Russia before studying at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, the Royal Academy of Music and at the Royal College of Music in the UK. He is a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, having performed globally with orchestras including the BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. He released his debut album featuring Liszt's Transcendental Études in 2022. He has been supported by numerous scholarships, including from Talent Unlimited. mr/
