Petkov: Clearly some forces in North Macedonia and Bulgaria don't want good neighborliness
Sofia, 3 February 2022 (MIA) — There are clearly some forces in the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria that don’t want this good neighborliness and stability and will use every opportunity in the coming weeks to block our process, said Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov commenting on bilateral relations in an interview with BNT, according to MIA’s Sofia correspondent. The Bulgarian Prime Minister said he had first met Prime Minister Kovachevski two weeks ago but they had fulfilled everything they had agreed on so far. Petkov added that during their conversation, both of them pledged to do everything they could to achieve good neighborliness, including the construction of road and rail infrastructure and the introduction of a direct flight to Skopje, which renewed interest in bilateral cooperation. He also said he would lay flowers at the Goce Delchev memorial in the Boris Garden in Sofia together with the acting Ambassador of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, Vladimir Krstevski, and later in the day join Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev in Blagoevgrad to pay tribute to the memory of Delchev. Leaving BNT, the Bulgarian PM said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska would visit Skopje and lay flowers at Delchev’s grave together with the Macedonian Minister of Culture. mr/
