Pension and Disability Insurance Fund's paper-based archives to be digitized

Skopje, 30 October 2025 (MIA) — To modernize business processes in the PIOM Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, its paper-based archives will be digitized with almost a million dollars from the World Bank's loan for the state's Social Insurance Administration Project, according to a PIOM press release citing the fund's director Nikola Memov.

At the PIOM Board of Directors meeting earlier Thursday, Memov said the PIOM had also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Federation of Associations of Pensioners of Macedonia and Promedika and Sistina's ophthalmology departments for discounts on eye exams, eye treatments and eye surgeries to pensioners nationwide.

Another memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Chamber of Bailiffs and the Ministry of Justice to increase the PIOM's efficiency, Memov said.

According to the release, PIOM Board of Directors chair Jasmina Vukichevikj and member Stanka Trajkova welcomed the news.

"I am particularly glad about the fact that the fund's archives will be digitized in the near future, which will secure the database and protect it, modernizing the fund's services," Vukichevikj said.

"The fund cares about pensioners," Trajkova commented on the newly established cooperation with the two private hospitals' eye care specialists. mr/
