Skopje, 12 April 2024 (MIA) – Running for president, I accept political debates with my opponents anytime, but as I said before the start of the campaign, I insist on all seven presidential candidates, confirmed by the State Election Commission, to take part in the debates, says SDSM presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski.

In a written statement on Friday, he says it was the reason why he had proposed the holding of two major debates, so called master debates, – one debate at the start of the campaign, and the other before the first round of the elections.

“The debates were planned to take place on a neutral ground and to be aired by all national broadcasters. At the debates, the seven candidates would have had equal conditions to present their programs,” says Pendarovski. 

He adds that so far the invitations sent by the media for TV debates didn’t confirm that all seven candidates would participate in any of the planned debates.
