Probishtip, 5 April 2024 (MIA) – Presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski addressed Friday the citizens of Probishtip as part of his campaign activities, requesting their support ahead of the elections on April 24 and May 8.
The presidential candidate said over the past five years, as president, he fulfilled everything he had promised, noting that he “was, is and will be everyone’s president”.
“There hasn’t been a single citizen who wanted to meet with me, talk to me, that I have rejected. There is not a single person that has asked for support from me, that I haven’t tried to help within my means. And there is not a single citizen, not a single person in this country who can say I have degraded them, discriminated or insulted them just because they are not a part of this political structure, or just because they aren’t Macedonian, or based on their religious affiliation,” Pendarovski said.
Regarding the opposition’s promises, Pendarovski said the citizens mustn’t trust politicians whose positions change based on whether they’re saying them publicly or behind the cameras. He stressed that the opposition’s officials keep saying “never North [Macedonia]”, but don’t mind receiving high officials’ wages from North Macedonia as MPs, mayors, and local councilors.
Speaking about the mistakes made by the ruling party, Pendarovski focused on the idea of a thorough vetting of all judges and prosecutors, but also of all politicians.
“Regarding the main slogan, ‘No justice, no peace’, it’s fair to say that we stopped halfway. That’s why I propose, and everyone who supports me agrees with my proposal, that immediately after the elections, once we receive your trust, we carry out a complete, thorough, comprehensive vetting of all judges and prosecutors, but also of all politicians who ask for your vote,” Pendarovski stressed.
On Friday, Pendarovski also held a rally in Shtip, where he reiterated his call for a vetting.
