Skopje, 22 August 2022 (MIA) — President Stevo Pendarovski met with the Macedonian Men's Junior Handball Team members, who recently won first place at the 2022 European Handball Federation Championship held in Riga, Latvia. Pendarovski congratulated the handball players on their teamwork, noting that winning the title without a single defeat was impressive. He was also impressed that four Macedonian national team members were chosen for the championship’s ideal team, according to the official press release. “We are proud that the junior national team, with its superior triumph, is continuing the tradition of achieving excellent results in Macedonian handball, one of our most successful sports,” the President told the young handball players, wishing them success in the future. Winning the Latvia 2022 EHF championship has qualified the national team for the 2024 European Handball Championship and the 2023 IHF World Championship. mr/
