Pendarovski and Lajčák meet on sidelines of World Economic Forum

Skopje, 16 January 2024 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski as part of his participation at this year's World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, had a meeting Tuesday with Miroslav Lajčák, EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues.

Discussions were focused on ongoing events and major regional challenges. They exchanged views on expectations from the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, highlighting the crucial role of intensified regional cooperation as a key prerequisite for maintaining lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Balkans, as reported by President Pendarovski's office.

“In relation to North Macedonia's perspectives, both interlocutors underscored the importance of a responsible approach by all political stakeholders. The aim is to secure the full implementation of reform processes and to maintain the country's European course,” reads the press release.

President Pendarovski and EU Special Representative Lajčák underscored the significance of maintaining regular communication and exchanging opinions and information of mutual interest.
