Over 80 hospitalized in Skopje after Kochani nightclub fire

Skopje, 16 March 2025 (MIA) - More than 80 people have been hospitalized in the Skopje hospitals and clinics after the fatal fire that broke out overnight in a nightclub in Kochani.
City Hospital director Nebojsha Nasto has told MIA they are treating 29 persons, including minors, who suffered burns to the face, neck and hands.
The Urgent Center at the Skopje clinics is treating 31 persons, primarily for burns. General hospital "8 September" is treating 17 people, with four other hospitalized in the Children's Clinic.
Most of the injured were transferred to the Kochani General Hospital.
The Ministry of Interior has told MIA that at least 50 people died in the fire, which media reported broke out due to use of fireworks.
All services, including a public prosecutor from the Basic Prosecutor's Office are on site to carry out preliminary investigations.
