Skopje, 30 December 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani spoke Friday over the phone with Gabriel Escobar, United States Deputy Assistant Secretary and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, discussing cooperation within the Strategic Dialogue and current political developments in North Macedonia.
FM Osmani referred to the action plan that the Government is set to adopt, making the projects agreed at the Strategic Dialogue part of its operating programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Osmani and Escobar also tackled regional developments, including the situation in northern Kosovo as a significant issue of broader impact. They reaffirmed the support for continuation of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, urging for de-escalation of the situation, withdrawal of barricades and ensuring uninterrupted conditions for the rule of law.
Interlocutors discussed North Macedonia’s European integration and its undertaken commitments for continuation of the negotiations by making the constitutional changes.
In addition, Osmani and Escobar exchanged opinions on North Macedonia’s priorities within the OSCE Chairmanship, with the U.S. reaffirming its support for a successful presidency, reads the press release.
