Osmani, Schütz have consultations regarding North Macedonia's upcoming OSCE chairmanship
Skopje, 16 November 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani received the Director for Southeast Europe, Turkey, the OSCE and the Council of Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Susanne Schütz, with whom, in addition to handing over the agreements on the Berlin Process, they held consultations regarding the upcoming chairmanship of North Macedonia with the organization as well as sharing the experiences from the German presidency in 2016. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the interlocutors discussed the current developments in the OSCE region and, more broadly, the priorities of North Macedonia during the chairmanship, especially emphasizing the moment that our country will take over the chairmanship of the OSCE during a period of open aggression against a participating country. At the same time, they discussed the views and perspectives of EU member states and other strategic partners on various issues of importance to the Organization. "Minister Osmani praised Germany's leadership within the framework of multilateral forums, including the outstanding role in the advancement of security and cooperation processes in the OSCE region and beyond," the press release reads. North Macedonia will chair the OSCE in 2023 taking over from Poland. During the presentation of the priorities in Vienna, Minister Osmani emphasized that as chairman of the organization in 2023, the conflict in Ukraine and reducing the far-reaching consequences of the crisis will be our high priority. dk/ba/
