Ohrid hosts European summit on digitalization in judiciary
Skopje, 12 June 2022 (MIA) – The Ministry of Justice, under the auspices of President Stevo Pendarovski, is organizing on Sunday and over the next three days in Ohrid a European summit on digitalization in judiciary under the theme “The benefits of the 4th Industrial Revolution as a mechanism for restoring trust in judiciary.” President Stevo Pendarovski, Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski, Head of the OSCE Mission in Skopje, Ambassador Clemens Koja, and Georg Stawa of the Federal Ministry of Justice of Austria will deliver welcome addresses at the summit. The first panel of the summit will focus on existing documents in terms of policies for digitalization in judiciary, and exchange of experience and knowledge in processes of digital transition in the judiciary system. Panelists include European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj, Turkey’s Deputy Justive Minister Zekeriya Birkan, Croatia’s Minister of Justice and Public Administration Ivan Malenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša, and a representative of from Serbia’s Ministry of Justice. Speakers at the second panel include Chief Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski, Judicial Court President Pavlina Crvenkovska, Georg Stawa of the Federal Ministry of Justice of Austria, President of the Council of Public Prosecutors, Antonio Jolevski, and Prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska, Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption. Other panels will discuss about the benefits of digitalization in judiciary, the use of modern technological solutions for equal access to justice, digitalization, access to justice and distance trial, interoperability between judiciary and state bodies and institutions, digitalization for more effective justice, regional experience, etc.
