Northern Israel, Tel Aviv hit by missile attacks from Iran, Lebanon

Tel Aviv/Tehran, 15 March 2026 (dpa/MIA) - Several impacts were reported in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area following another Iranian missile attack, according to Israeli media on Sunday.

Video footage showed a vehicle engulfed in flames, while impact craters were visible at other sites.

The television channel N12 reported that Iran may have once again used cluster munitions. According to the emergency service Magen David Adom, at least two people were injured in the attack.

Media reports also said a missile previously fired from Iran toward the southern coastal city of Eilat had been intercepted by Israel's missile defence system.

Earlier, the Israeli military reported that northern Israel also fended off a renewed attacks from Iran and Lebanon.

It said missiles had been launched from Iran toward the country, while media reports described sirens sounding along the borders with Lebanon and the occupied Golan Heights.

No injuries were initially reported.

The United States and Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Iran on February 28. The war has spread to the wider Middle East region.

Tehran has retaliated with strikes against Israel as well as oil and natural gas facilities in Gulf states allied with Washington.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon has also attacked Israeli positions, voicing support for Tehran and saying it is defending Lebanon against "Israeli aggression."

Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, including in Beirut and southern border regions, have triggered widespread displacement of civilians fleeing the fighting.
