North Macedonia to face Hungary in 2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship

Varazdin, 15 January 2025 (MIA) - The Macedonian handball team will face Hungary Wednesday evening in their opening match at the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship.
The match is scheduled to take place in Varazdin, Croatia, starting at 8:30 pm.
The players coached by Kiril Lazarov held their final training session last night ahead of the World Championship and are ready for the clash against the favored Hungarians.
The first Group D match between the Netherlands and Guinea will take place earlier at 6:00 pm.
The 2025 IHF World Men's Handball Championship is the 29th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It is held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway from 14 January to 2 February 2025.
The groups for the 2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship are:
Group A: Germany, Czechia, Poland, Switzerland.
Group B: Denmark, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia.
Group C: France, Austria, Qatar, Kuwait.
Group D: Hungary, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Guinea.
Group E: Norway, Portugal, Brazil, United States.
Group F: Sweden, Spain, Japan, Chile.
Group G: Slovenia, Iceland, Cuba, Cabo Verde.
Group H: Egypt, Croatia, Argentina, Bahrain.
Results against other qualified teams are carried forward to the main round which comprises four pools of six teams. The top two in each will go through to the knockout phase which starts with the quarter-finals.
