North Macedonia sees boost in visitors

Skopje, 12 January 2023 (MIA) — In November 2022, North Macedonia welcomed 56,886 tourists, of whom 36.2% were domestic tourists and 63.8% were foreign tourists, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.

 

"The number of nights spent in November 2022 was 124,969, of which 40.6% are realised by domestic and the other 59.4% are realised by foreign tourists," the press release says.

 

Between January and November 2022, compared to the same months in 2021, the number of visitors rose by 38.8%, with the number of domestic tourists increasing by 6.2% and that of foreign tourists by 84.5%.

 

Between January and November 2022, compared to the same months in 2021, visitors spent 23.3% more nights in North Macedonia. Domestic tourists spent 3.9% more nights and foreign tourists spent 72.2% more nights in the country. mr/
