Skopje, 15 December 2023 (MIA) - North Macedonia signed Friday the final acts in obtaining an orbital position within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Radiocommunication Conferences 2023 (WRC-23), held in Dubai.

Minister of Information Society and Administration Azir Aliu said the final acts define the manner of using the radio-frequency spectrum and the satellite orbits.

The process of obtaining the same orbital position in fixed and broadcast satellite services was a long one, but we finally did it. As of today, Macedonia has its place in the orbit. Our orbital position is secure, the next step is to launch a satellite, said the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MISA).

Another accomplishment at the conference, adds the ministry, is the digital dividend 3 that releases frequencies for the 6th generation mobile networks (6G) in lower frequency ranges.
