North Macedonia extended an invitation for European Political Community summit
Brussels, 22 September 2022 (MIA) – The European Council President and the Czech EU Presidency have extended the official invitations to all countries participating in the European Political Community, including North Macedonia, MIA reports from Brussels. The first meeting of heads of state and government of the European Political Community will take place in Prague on October 6. Besides the 27 member-states, the EPC also includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The goal of the EPC, as the EU has said, is to set up a platform for political cooperation of all countries in the broader European area, ensure their coordination and communication on all topics of common interest, toward securing the stability and security of the continent. Council diplomats hope the format could regularly take place in the future, once or twice a year. They insist that the EPC is in no case a replacement of the existing EU organizations, structures and processes, with no formal declarations or conclusions at the end of the summit. The meeting will begin with a three-hour roundtable focused on security, energy, climate, economy, migration and mobility, followed by bilateral meetings and a joint dinner.
