North Macedonia and Kosovo to formalize cooperation in field of food safety and animal health
Skopje, 8 July 2022 (MIA) - By signing a cooperation memorandum, North Macedonia and Kosovo will formalize the established bilateral cooperation in the field of food safety and animal health, concluded on Friday the Food and Veterinary Agency Director Nikolche Babovski and his colleague from Kosovo, Veterinary and Food Agency head Flamur Kadriu. “The development of trade is in the interest of advancing the economies of both countries. Advancing cooperation is also in the interest of the realization of regional priorities, not only in the field of food safety, but also in veterinary medicine. The focus is placed on the control of animal diseases, especially those whose suppression and control requires the coordinated undertaking of various measures,” Babovski said. Food and Veterinary Agency representatives presented the current situation with animal diseases in our country and the measures taken for their control and suppression. The participants in the meeting also discussed several proposals on facilitating the inter-institutional exchange of information on food safety and trade.
