North Macedonia's Army sends search-and-rescue team to Turkey
- North Macedonia's Army has sent search-and-rescue team, including 24 army members and two dogs, to help search for survivors after the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday.
Skopje, 7 February 2023 (MIA) - North Macedonia's Army has sent search-and-rescue team, including 24 army members and two dogs, to help search for survivors after the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday.
"The Army has send an aircraft carring a search-and-rescue team including members of the special forces battalion and two service dog handlers with two search-and-rescue dogs, trained in tracking by the Training and Doctrine Command, who will do their utmost to search for survivors under the rubble caused by the catastrophic earthquake that hit our ally Turkey," said the Army.
Earlier on Tuesday, director of the Protection and Rescue Directorate, Bekim Maksuti, told MIA that protection and rescue teams including 40 people have been sent to the earthquake-hit region in Turkey, Gaziantep.
