Skopje, 16 February 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Thursday the non-issuance of the Eurobond due to a missing signature by the justice minister, who has resigned, would not have a negative impact on the country's credit rating.
PM Kovachevski said the non-issuance of the Eurobond is out of procedural reasons and they did not want to violate the procedure because the justice minister has resigned.
"We did not want to violate the procedure until a new minister is elected. The investors were duly informed yesterday. The procedure will be repeated and completed as soon as the Government reshuffle is in place," Kovachevski told reporters.
The Eurobond issuance should ensure EUR 600 million to be used for repayment of old debts and the Eurobond that matures in 2023. The Ministry of Finance said yesterday the procedure of the Eurobond issuance would be carried out upon completion of the administrative procedures, which also include an opinion from the new justice minister.
