No need for new political party, misunderstandings to be solved within DUI: says Saraj mayor
Skopje, 6 July 2023 (MIA) - There are differences, we are a faction within DUI, and we want resolution of misunderstandings within the party, Saraj Mayor and faction member Blerim Bexheti has told MIA.
Bexheti says they are against the formation of a new political party since this would fragment the ethnic Albanian electorate.
"(Former deputy PM) Musa Xhaferi, (former Gostivar mayor) Nevzat Bejta and me are against the formation of a new political party," says Bexheti.
On the constitutional amendments, the Saraj Mayor notes their position mirrors the one of DUI.
"We must be careful not to encourage the anti-European forces. DUI believes this issue must be settled as soon as possible so that the EU accession process moves forward," says Bexheti.
He denies any cooperation with other opposition parties, including VMRO-DPMNE.
