No constitutional changes without clear delivery by Bulgaria and EU, says Mickoski

Skopje, 16 October 2025 (MIA) – The spineless diplomacy led by SDSM and DUI is what brought us to this situation. Something that was built over centuries, something people sacrificed themselves for, they managed to sell off in just seven years, Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said in an interview with Kanal 5 TV on Thursday evening.

Mickoski stressed that as long as he is Prime Minister there won’t be constitutional changes “without a clear delivery and obligations by our eastern neighbor, as well as concrete guarantees from the European Union”.

“No one has the right, nor is it fair, to expect this government to do that unconditionally, nor does this government intend to do so while I am Prime Minister. That should be clear, I’ve said it many times. We demand consistent respect for international law, and that includes obligations for our eastern neighbor. We also demand guarantees, and if the EU truly wants to see Macedonia in its ranks, it should at least do for us a fraction of what it does for some other countries. That is a clear position,” Mickoski said.
