Skopje, 18 September 2024 (MIA) — Customs Administration director Boban Nikolovski and Economic Chamber president Branko Azeski met to discuss ways of stimulating cooperation through regular consultations and events aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy, according to a press release from the Customs Administration.
At the meeting, Nikolovski and Azeski decided to sign a new memorandum of cooperation laying out future activities related to promoting and developing customs-business partnerships. This, they agreed, would enable consistency, compliance, predictability and efficiency of customs and business processes.
"Improving relations is paramount for boosting the business community's performance and the country's economic transformation, which is a key priority of the Government," Nikolovski is quoted as saying in the release.
According to Azeski, businesspeople welcomed establishing a process of regular consultations and a partnership with customs authorities.
"The Economic Chamber supports and encourages the Customs Administration to improve customs operations by introducing new digital services and solutions and by modernizing border crossing equipment, as this will both facilitate and speed up procedures and help export companies increase their efficiency and competitiveness," the Economic Chamber head said. mr/
