Skopje, 6 June 2025 (MIA) - The added value that the agreement with the United Kingdom brings is political. This is a strong political signal, because projects can be funded from other sources but it is difficult to acquire such a level of political relations, says Deputy PM Aleksandar Nikoloski.
Deputy PM Nikoloski told a TV show that the UK agreement has a structural component and supports reforms, health, education, including a financial but primarily a political component.
"We have been saying for decades that Macedonia needs a big country as its sponsor. Unfortunately, previous governments did nothing for such a country to stand behinds us, but we have managed to do this with the second most powerful country. May 22 will go down in history books as the day when Macedonia and Great Britain entered into a unique partnership, one that no other country in the region has, an agreement carrying an added value within," says Nikoloski.
According to him, the entire process is transparent, noting that the agreement has been forwarded to the Parliament in full.
"You can see that we are informing the public on every step and I believe that the opposition's criticism is coming back as a boomerang," says Nikoloski.
