New ambassadors to be appointed in Brussels, Podgorica, Paris and Ankara
Skopje, 16 September 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani revealed Friday the names of four new ambassadors at a press briefing. He also said that the ambassadors are under evaluation and that some who don’t fulfill the evaluation criteria may have to withdraw.
Zulfi Ismaili, a career diplomat who had a mandate in the Permanent Mission in Brussels and one mandate in the Mission of the UN in New York, will be assigned to the EU’s HQ in Brussels. Viktor Dimovski, who was recently at the helm of the Agency for National Security, will depart for Paris. Also, Zekir Ramchilovikj will serve in Podgorica and Jovo Manasijevski has been assigned to Ankara.
“We have three new names, but we’re waiting to hear the Government’s decision and therefore I am unable to reveal them because we’re waiting for an agrément. I am referring to the Ambassador in Bern, the consul general in Munich and the consul general in Toronto, but we’re waiting for the end of the consul exequatur process or agréments for the ambassadors,” Osmani said.
He added that there will be two additional ambassadorial proposals on Tuesday, but they won’t be revealed until the receiving country approves.
“From the beginning of September, I started the process of evaluating the work of the already appointed ambassadors for the period of September 1, 2021 and September 1, 2022, with accurately quantified and qualitative parameters in relation to the political and economic part, in relation to the organizational-managerial part, and I expect a serious evaluation of the work of ambassadors. I can also announce that there may be a withdrawal of some of the ambassadors may be withdrawn for not meeting the criteria according to the evaluation,” Osmani added. dk/ba/
