Netherlands resumes MATRA project with Judicial Council
- Judicial Council President Vesna Dameva met Tuesday with Dutch Ambassador Dirk Jan Kop to discuss the renewal of MATRA project "Strengthening efficiency, accountability and transparency of the Judicial Council in North Macedonia," financed by the Government of the Netherlands.
Skopje, 6 February 2024 (MIA) - Judicial Council President Vesna Dameva met Tuesday with Dutch Ambassador Dirk Jan Kop to discuss the renewal of MATRA project "Strengthening efficiency, accountability and transparency of the Judicial Council in North Macedonia," financed by the Government of the Netherlands.
The Judicial Council said in a press release that the MATRA project, which was put on hold in May 2023, is important to the Council and Dameva thanked Ambassador Jan Kop for the initiative to resume it.
Dameva expressed sincere gratitude for the efforts of Ambassador Jan Kop and the Dutch government to resume this important project for the Judicial Council in such a short time, as well as their trust and support. Ambassador Jan Kop said that the Dutch Embassy and Judicial Council will continue their close cooperation, and wished for a successful implementation of project activities, reads the press release.
MATRA stands for maatschappelijke transformatie, meaning ‘social transformation’. It is part of the Netherlands Fund for Regional Partnerships (NFRP) that supports current and potential EU candidate countries in their attempts to fulfil conditions required by the EU accession processes. ssh/ik/
