Skopje, 22 December 2023 (MIA) — National Opera and Ballet dancers will perform a ballet inspired by Aco Shopov's poem sequence "Prayers of My Body" on Friday at 8 pm.

In the form of a triptych, the 90-minute "Prayers of my Body" ballet marks the Macedonian poet's birth centenary, organizers said.

"Shopov's poetry, i.e. the poem sequence of the same title will be 'read' in the language of dance created by three Macedonian choreographers to the music of three Macedonian composers and other artists," organizers wrote.

The idea's originator and the costume designer is Aleksandar Noshpal. The ballet was written by Sonja Zdravkova Dzheparoska.

The choreography was designed by Ivana Kocevska, Adrijana Danchevska, and Sasha Evtimova. The music was written by Darija Andovska, Aleksandar Grozdanovski and Aleksandar Pejovski.

The set designer is Mihajlo Stojanovski, and the visual artist is Florian Canga from Albania. The poetry is read by actor Nikola Ristanovski. mr/
