Skopje, 8 October 2025 (MIA) – The Macedonian Cultural and Information Centre in Istanbul will open on Wednesday the exhibition 'Spaces of Conjunction', curated by the National Gallery of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The exhibition marks a new page in the collaboration between the two institutions, and an opportunity for the Istanbul audience to get acquainted with contemporary Macedonian art.
"The artists spark a dialogue between the individual and the social through graphics, drawings, photography, video, objects, and collages, transforming the artistic act into a space of tension, symbiosis and interpretation. The exhibition establishes artistic expression as a dynamic space in which personal and intimate fragments intertwine with collective memory and cultural matrices. 'Spaces of Conjunction' is an emotional and visual journey through memories, borders, and cultural layers, a document and a map of the time we live in. Art here is not stable, but alive and changing, like a collage that is constantly being reassembled," the Macedonian Cultural Centre in Istanbul said.
The exhibition features works by artists Robert Jankuloski, Kristina Pulejkova, Velimir Zhernovski, Georgi Despodov, Monika Moteska, Darko Aleksoski, Metodi Angelov - Meto, Shqipe Mehmeti, Irena Paskali, Mihaela Jovanovska, Slavica Janeshlieva, Gjorgje Jovanovikj, Aco Stankoski, Ivancho Talevski, Zhaneta Vangeli, Verica Kovachevska, Marija Sotirovska, Kristijan Jovanovski, Mariko Iseini, and Igor Sekovski.
