National Bank marks 32 years since introduction of Macedonian denar

Skopje, 26 April 2024 (MIA) - On April 26, 32 years ago, the denar was introduced as a national currency and an institutional framework was established in the monetary system, i.e., the National Bank started to operate as an independent central bank, wrote the National Bank of North Macedonia in a Facebook post Friday.
“This date is significant for our history, since monetary independence concluded the overall process of the establishment of our country. Over the past 32 years, the National Bank has successfully faced numerous challenges, while the denar has remained ‘the anchor of stability of our economy’,” the National Bank wrote.
