Skopje, 31 May 2023 (MIA) — Тhe National Bank's Statistics Department head Snezhana Janeska Popovska was a presenter at a financial statistics workshop organized by the Center of Excellence in Finance, a Ljubljana-based international organization that serves as a knowledge hub for the region.

According to the central bank in a press release, the workshop covered various practical and conceptual aspects of compiling financial accounts statistics, a review of sectors and financial instruments, the consistency of national sector accounts, statistical data sources, and preparing data and data flows through the experiences of European central banks as well as the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

In her presentations, Janeska Popovska spoke about key aspects related to financial accounts statistics prepared by the National Bank.

"She addressed the challenges and practical solutions in the process of compiling financial accounts, strengthening the cooperation between instutions, methodological aspects, data sources and the technical system," the release says.

"The workshop participants were greatly interested in the National Bank's practical steps for compiling financial accounts," the release continues, adding that the exchange of experiences provided insight into the development of financial accounts in several central banks in the region.

The financial statistics workshop was part of a series of CEF educational events related to central banking operations. The National Bank's participation reflects the long-term successful cooperation between the two institutions, according to the release. mr/
