Museum of North Macedonia marks European Heritage Days 2025

Skopje, 23 September 2025 (MIA) -- As part of the EU-initiated European Heritage Days series of cultural events held across Europe to raise awareness of the value of the common cultural heritage and the need to protect it for future generations, the Museum of North Macedonia has organized several free exhibitions, workshops and screenings under the 2025 shared annual theme, "Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future."

The series of events at the Museum of North Macedonia will begin with a tactile exhibit. Titled "Touch the Housewares," the display was designed for physical interaction and especially for blind or low-vision visitors, organizers said.

The exhibit was curated by Suzana Markovska, an ethnologist at the museum, who will also run several related workshops.

Other European Heritage Days 2025 events scheduled at the museum include screenings of short documentaries on Macedonian cultural heritage filmed in the 1950s, 1960s and 1980s. Topics range from architectural heritage to intangible cultural heritage.

Admission to the museum's permanent collection between Sept. 23 and 29 is also free. mr/
