Murtezani meets Kyuchyuk in Brussels
- Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani on Thursday in Brussels met with Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (JURI), Ilhan Kyuchyuk, member of Renew Europe, exchanging views on important topics related to cooperation with the European Parliament in the area of the Euro-integration process.
Skopje, 5 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani on Thursday in Brussels met with Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (JURI), Ilhan Kyuchyuk, member of Renew Europe, exchanging views on important topics related to cooperation with the European Parliament in the area of the Euro-integration process.
Murtezani expressed gratitude for the European Parliament's consistent principled support in the context of the EU enlargement policy with the Western Balkan countries, highlighting the excellent cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia through the Jean Monnet Dialogue, which represents an important element of the overall engagement of the EU for the country's European file, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.
MEP Kyuchyuk reaffirmed strong support for North Macedonia's progress towards the EU, stressing the importance of continuous dialogue and constructive engagement both at the bilateral and at the European level.
In addition, interlocutors discussed the topic of appointing a new Rapporteur for North Macedonia in the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET). Talks also tackled possibilities to strengthen bilateral dialogue, with an emphasis on resolving open issues and promoting good neighbourly relations.
