Skopje, 1 September 2025 (MIA) – Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani will take part Monday and Tuesday in an informal meeting of EU affairs ministers from EU members and candidate countries, taking place in Copenhagen as part of the Danish presidency of the Council of the EU.
“In the meeting, EU ministers together with their counterparts from the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova and Turkey will share views on the importance of the Copenhagen criteria as the basis for the enlargement process and the gradual integration concept, seen as mechanisms to maintain the European perspective and to strengthen the credibility of the accession process,” the Ministry of European Affairs said.
The main focus of the meeting will be different aspects of the EU’s enlargement under the title ”From Copenhagen to Copenhagen to Copenhagen”, referring back to the Danish EU Presidencies in 1993 and 2002 and the agreements on the Copenhagen Criteria and the 2004 enlargement, the Danish EU presidency announced ahead of the event.
