Mucunski – Waitz: Firm commitment to EU progress through reforms in key areas
- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held a meeting Wednesday with the European Parliament’s rapporteur for North Macedonia, Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz, during which they discussed the country’s progress in the European integrations, future steps in the accession process, as well as opportunities for greater cooperation with the European Parliament, the Foreign Minister said in a social media post Wednesday.
Skopje, 26 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held a meeting Wednesday with the European Parliament’s rapporteur for North Macedonia, Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz, during which, according to the Foreign Minister, they discussed the country’s progress in the European integrations, future steps in the accession process, as well as opportunities for greater cooperation with the European Parliament.
“I highlighted the Government’s firm commitment to progress on the European path through the implementation of a stable process of reforms in key areas, strengthening the economic capacities and improving the living standard of the citizens. Additionally, I touched upon the good neighborly relations, underscoring our commitment to their constant promotion on the basis of the principles of mutual respect and building trust,” Mucunski wrote in a post on his official Facebook page.
Mucunski thanked Waitz for his work and the cooperation aimed at promoting North Macedonia’s Euro-integration process.
“Mucunski and Waitz stressed the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue with the European Parliament on all levels, as well as the need to deepen cooperation with the aim of promoting common interests and securing continued support for the country’s European future,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release after the meeting.
