MP: SDSM condemns provocation of any kind
Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) - SDSM does not support opening of clubs named after supporters of the Third Reich, SDSM MP Nenad Kocikj said Friday noting that a new law on associations and foundations is already in the works at the Justice Ministry.
The law, he added, will be in the interest of protecting the Macedonian identity, language and culture in the future and everyone should aim at cooperation, mutual respect and applying of European values.
SDSM condemns provocations of any kind. "This land lies on the heroic deeds of our predecessors and the Macedonian anti-fascist fight. It is our duty to find institutionally a solution and to close these issues that we know irritate and it's a fact that our laws have shortcomings that require amendments," stated Kocikj.
The party Levica, which organizes Friday's protest in Ohrid against the opening of the Tsar Boris III culture club, accused the ruling coalition partners SDSM and DUI of not condemning the event.
Earlier, Levica to Parliament submitted a referendum initiative against what they call the pro-Bulgarian proposal. According to Levica general secretary Jovana Mojsoska, the party's referendum initiative is expected to be approved by the Parliament Speaker so as to "allow the people to vote whether they are against Bulgaria's blackmail."
The largest opposition party VMRO-DPMNE also supports the Ohrid protest.
