More than 15.000 Dutch tourists expected to visit Ohrid in 2023

Ohrid, 12 January 2023 (MIA) – Around 15,000 tourists from the Netherlands are expected to arrive in Ohrid in 2023 using charter flights of tour operator TUI, said the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism (APPT) at Thursday’s promotion at the Vakantiebeurs Utrecht international fair, held January 12-15.

The tourism potential of North Macedonia, as well as Macedonian wines and cuisine were presented by APPT and TUI – Netherlands on the first day of the fair.

“Charter flights to Ohrid have been confirmed for mid-May, four times a week, while during peak season this number will increase to six flights per week from the Netherlands and an additional placement of Macedonia in round trips. TUI – Netherlands expects around 15,000 tourists in 2023, which is the largest number thus far,” said the Agency in a Facebook post.

The interest in the Macedonian tourism market, according to the Agency, has increased and our destination is increasingly represented in the programs of tour operators from the Netherlands, and this part of Europe in general.

In addition to the large number of tour operators, the presentation was also attended by the acting Ambassador of North Macedonia to the Netherlands, Beti Jacheva, as well as hoteliers and tour operators from Ohrid. ad/ik/
