Skopje, 23 July 2022 (MIA) — British students are delighted with the Macedonian language and over the past three years have been taking online Macedonian courses given by the University College London’s School of Slavonic and East European Studies with the help of the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, according to a press release from the Macedonian language school.
The Macedonian language courses at the UCL, also known as London’s Global University, are available at all levels and run over three ten-week terms.
In the press release regarding the successful completion of the summer term, Macedonian language scholar Vesna Mojsova Chepishevska says such courses additionally affirm the Macedonian language in universities worldwide.
Mojsova Chepishevska credits Macedonian language professor Ana Ilievska Zavrshnik with founding the course and North Macedonia’s Ambassador to the UK Aleksandra Miovska with providing her unwavering support.
As part of the Macedonian language course, several events dedicated to Macedonian language, literature and culture, including a celebration of Blazhe Koneski’s birth centenary, have been held at the UCL.
The Macedonian language course in London is also supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, the release adds. mr/
