MoI: Three minors confirmed dead so far, more than 20 injured in Kochani nightclub fire

Skopje, 16 March 2025 (MIA) – According to preliminary information of the Ministry of Interior, there were around 500 people in the nightclub in Kochani where a deadly fire broke out last night, whereas 250 tickets were sold. So far, three minors have been confirmed dead and more than 20 have been injured.

Latest information say that 59 people have died, and 155 were injured. 

Minister of Interior Pance Toshkovski told a press conference on Sunday that the majority of the victims have been identified and the names of the decesed will be provided to the families after the identification is completed. 

"All bodies that were part of the criminal-legal event have been removed from the scene. We have 22 people in critical condition and some will be transported by plane to Türkiye, Bulgaria and Greece and will receive appropriate treatment," said Toshkovski.

The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office, Toshkovski noted, has so far identified 20 people as suspects in connection with last night's fire in a nightclub in Kochani, 15 of whom are currently in police station.

Toshkovski said the company did not have a legal operating license and he could not reveal further details on this part of the investigation, notinh however that, like many other things from the past, it was related to bribery and corruption.

On the four people regarding whom an all-points bulletin (APB) was issued, Toshkovski said that they have been secured.
