Skopje, 13 July 2021 (MIA) – The Ministry of Health said Tuesday the Commission for Infectious Diseases is monitoring the situation in Tetovo and the surrounding region after a rise of COVID-19 cases in recent days.
According to preliminary information, the rise comes from two identified clusters, the first one from a wedding and the second from a family gathering. The concern comes from the fact that some of the patients have failed to give accurate data and information on contacts, for the purpose of preventing other clusters from creating around the existing two, says the ministry.
The positive thing it that out of 65 active cases in Tetovo, only 12 have shown symptoms and there are no hospitalizations. The Delta variant has not been detected among the cases. Despite the calm epidemiological situation across the country, everyone should be extremely cautious and observe health protocols and measures. Personal hygiene, distancing, wearing a mask is a personal responsibility, notes the ministry.
It also highlights the importance of vaccination, adding “the more people get vaccinated, the sooner we obtain herd immunity, which is crucial in the win against the pandemic.”
