Mitevska's The Happiest Man in the World sells out in Venice
Skopje, 2 September 2022 (MIA) – The world premiere of Teona S. Mitevska’s latest film "The Happiest Man in the World" at the Venice Festival will be held on Friday at 2:15 pm in the Darsena projection room.
The production team says that the movie has garnered lots of attention and that tickets have sold out.
“Venice is a special film festival, the oldest of its kind, and it’s a huge honor to be here,” says the production team.
The film has been co-produced by North Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Belgium, BiH and Denmark. The production and development have been backed by the Film Agency, Creative Europe – MEDIA, Eurimage, the Danish Film Institute, Belgium Tax Shelter, the Croatian Audiovisual Center and the Sarajevo Film Fund.
The Film Agency is thrilled by the film’s success and it expects a successful reception by the judges and audience.
It’s a story about the unpredictability of life, chance encounters between attacker and victim, reviving the painful past, a story of impossible pairings, love and absurdity. It starts off as a funny field trip developing into a mountain of experiences. Its natural rhythm is linked to interrogation tactics while searching for the truth after violence. This film slowly unravels layers of emotion, bringing the viewer to the point of vertigo.
It stars Jelena Kordic Kuret and Adnan Omerovic, co-starring Labina Mitevska, Ana Kostovska, Nikolina Kujaca, as well as Firdauz Nebi, Xhevdet Jashari, Zorica Nusheva in a series of episodic roles alongside Ksenija Marinkovic from Croatia, Izudin Bajrovic, Irma Alimanovic, Vedrana Bozinovic, Mona Muratovic, Sinisa Vidovic and Kemal Rizvanovic from BiH. dk/ba/
