The meeting was to evaluate the implementation of the one-stop-shop system, which was launched last week at the Blace – Elez Han border crossing, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.

"The meeting was to evaluate the implementation of the one-stop-shop system, which was officially launched last week at the Blace – Elez Han border crossing, as well as to coordinate future steps to further strengthen cross-border connectivity," Toshkovski said.

The next phase, adds the press release, is implementation of the system at the Jazhince - Globochica border crossing, which is expected in the coming period.

"The next phase of this cooperation is implementation of the system at the Jazhince - Globochica border crossing, which is expected in the coming period. The one-stop-shop system means just one check for passengers, instead of two, shorter wait times and a better experience, and for the services - more efficient work, better coordination and a stronger fight against illegal activities, while for the two countries it is a new chapter of connectivity with faster transport, more trade, tourism and friendship," Toshkovski noted.

Participants in the meeting also discussed current cooperation between the two ministries and police forces, as well as the possibility of its improvement in the area of information exchange and the fight against crime.
