Minister of Public Administration Minchev meets regional counterparts in Rome

Skopje, 18 November 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev took part Tuesday at a meeting with Western Balkans counterparts, hosted by Italian Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, held on the sidelines of conference "Partnership for Reform: Ministerial Dialogue Western Balkans - Italy" in Rome.

The meeting focused on the progress of reforms in the region, enhancement of administrative capacities, digital transformation, improvement of professional development, and human resource management, the Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release.

"This conference and meeting reaffirm Italy's commitment to supporting public administration reforms in the Western Balkans and our joint vision for a modern, efficient and European administration," said Minister Minchev in his remarks at the meeting.

Minchev presented the country's key reforms in 2025, highlighting the set of laws for professionalization of the administration, creating a merit system, increased mobility and setting up a new Academy for Public Servants.

"The European path is not only a strategic commitment, it is a duty to produce results. Therefore, Italy's support and regional cooperation enable us to accelerate reforms and deliver an administration that operates in a fast and professional way, and in the citizens' interest," added Minchev.

Ministers agreed that 2026 must be a year of accelerated implementation, regional alignment and clear, tangible results in public administration, which as Minchev said, "Macedonia is ready to deliver", reads the press release.
