Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met Tuesday with European Investment Bank (EIB) country representative Björn Gabriel and EIB loan officer for North Macedonia Alessandro de Concini, discussing opportunities to strengthen cooperation.

Minister Murtezani noted that EIB's physical presence in the country and during all its operations "facilitates the implementation of projects and programs."

The Minister thanked EIB for its commitment to the country throughout the years and support in the implementation of current projects, including early activities for future cooperation. He also briefed interlocutors on the indicative list of projects based on the Single List of Projects, noting that the indicative list contains the same types of projects EIB wants to invest in North Macedonia, such as energy storage and central heating in the energy sector, digitization infrastructure, and infrastructure of school and healthcare institutions, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

It adds that EIB contributes to the European development and cooperative policies in accordance with the conditions and rules laid out in various agreements linking EU with some 130 countries. ssh/ik/
