Minister Murtezani on two-day visit to Brussels
- Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani is set to pay a working visit to Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday. The visit will include meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, and the Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Stefano Sannino.
Skopje, 3 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani is set to pay a working visit to Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday. The visit will include meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, and the Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Stefano Sannino.
The Minister will also meet with Gert Jan Koopman, Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), and the Director for the Western Balkans at DG, Valentina Superti. He will also have meetings with MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk and other representatives of the European institutions and the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“The upcoming diplomatic meetings in Brussels are a part of the ongoing efforts for a breakthrough on North Macedonia’s European path and enhancement of cooperation with key bodies of the European Union. The meetings will cover a series of topics important for North Macedonia’s accession process, with a special emphasis on regional stability, economic cooperation and further alignment of the domestic reforms with the European standards,” the Ministry for European Affairs said in a press release.
The Ministry added that opportunities for increased technical assistance for ongoing reforms in the judiciary, rule of law and anti-corruption measures will also be assessed in the discussions
