Minister Bekteshi: No power cuts despite difficult winter ahead
Ohrid, 30 June 2022 (MIA) - No power cuts are planned although a difficult winter is ahead not only in North Macedonia, but also in the region and beyond due to the energy crisis, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi said Thursday at the MEF Energy Forum in Ohrid. Preparations are under way, mainly by ESM to increase production, which has been already increased according to the company's submitted plan, he added. "As for power prices, those heating pools will be hit the hardest, they spend as much as 100 average households in the country per month. The others paying bills on the average according to their needs, they might even pay smaller bills after block tarrifs are introduced," Bekteshi told reporters. The Minister called on the citizens to save on electricity as much as possible because the whole world is hit by the energy crisis not only North Macedonia.
