Mila Relikj suffers defeat in Olympics taekwondo quarterfinal

Paris, 8 August 2024 (MIA) - Macedonian taekwondo athlete Miljana Relikj lost her quarterfinal bout to Lebanon’s Laetitia Aoun in the women’s -57kg at the Paris Olympics.
Relikj fought two closely matched rounds on Thursday afternoon, losing 9-8 in the first one, while the second one was tied 6-6 with Aoun winning by superiority.
Despite the defeat Relikj still has a shot at a bronze medal through the repêchage if Aoun reaches the final.
Earlier on Thursday, Relikj shocked two-time gold medalist Jade Jones from Great Britain, beating her 2-1 in the first round of the competition.
