Skopje, 10 September 2026 (MIA) – For us, WIK company is a very important partner, particularly for the Pelagonia Region and for Prilep, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said during Thursday’s visit to the WIK company in the Technological Industrial Development Zone (TIDZ) in Prilep, where he attended the opening of a new facility that will employ 300 new workers.

The government supports the company, which has been operating in the Prilep TIDZ for eight years. The support is particularly important because the company is engaged in the circular economy.
”We will continue to fully assume the institutional, I would say, risk, or everything that institutions are required to prepare for investors, whether foreign or domestic. In this case, we are talking about a foreign investor, particularly because this is a type of investment focused on the circular economy, which is very important in Europe today. It is an economy aimed at recycling and, essentially, renewing everything that is old and used. This represents added value and is now a trend within the economy of the European Union,” Mickoski said.
The WIK’s owner stressed that the company is among the first in the region to support and implement circular economy, which is high in demand in Europe and that it also cooperates with educational institutions through dual-education programs.

“I expect many more investments in the future, which will contribute to greater economic development in the country. WIK is among the first companies in the region to implement this circular economy model, which is highly sought after in Europe. WIK cooperates with secondary schools through dual education, enabling students to continue working at the company and more broadly, to pursue their career in Macedonia,” said the company’s owner, Christoph Doern.
WIK company has been operating in Prilep TIDZ since 2018. The company had more than 500 employees, while the opening of the new facility has created an additional 300 jobs.
