Skopje, 28 May 2024 (MIA) — VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski ahead of the constitutive session of Parliament earlier on Tuesday said he expected that Afrim Gashi's nomination for Parliament Speaker would be supported by all signatories of the proposal.

Commenting on Levica leader Dimitar Apasiev's statement that he would give "unwavering support" to future projects if Gashi is not elected Parliament Speaker, Mickoski said that VMRO-DPMNE had given Apasiev "an unwavering offer to join the Macedonian national unity."

"Dimitar Apasiev had an unwavering offer to join the Macedonian national unity," Mickoski told reporters. "He decided to focus more on planning his summer vacation, either in Hurghada or at some other Greek beach."

The constitutive session under way in Parliament is chaired by the oldest Member of Parliament, Merita Kolçi-Koxhaxhiku. mr/
