Skopje, 28 October 2023 (MIA) - The working group within the Ministry of Justice is working on the amendments to the Electoral Code. That Electoral Code will again enter a procedure in the Parliament and VMRO-DPMNE as a political party will make a decision based on those amendments that we will get as a proposal. It is true that we do not participate, but that does not mean that we will not participate in the adoption of the amendments or in the adoption of the new version of the Electoral Code, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Saturday.

In response to a journalist's question regarding the call of PM Kovachevski VMRO-DPMNE to assign a representative to participate in the working group on the Electoral Code, Mickoski said that when it enter the procedure in the Parliament, then they will state their position.

“The Ministry of Justice has never scheduled election dates. I understand Dimitar Kovachevski, he has been appointed acting Prime Minister and will continue to perform that duty for some time, he has no electoral experience, no previous experience in these processes,” Mickoski said after meeting businessmen in Petrovec municipality.

He issued a public invitation to the Government to sit down and agree on dates for the presidential and parliamentary elections. The party is ready, as he said, to agree on a date for the first round of presidential elections and the second round of presidential and parliamentary elections.

“Whatever date they choose, we will support it. We are ready to talk even today,” Mickoski added.
