Skopje, 2 November 2025 (MIA) - This is a victory of faith, hope and aspiration for the future. This is a win of the suffering people, its dreams that we are fighting for, its hopes and our common homeland, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski after Sunday's local election runoff.

"Tonight, Macedonia has again shown its maturity. We won convincingly in Skopje, we won in Karposh, Aerodrom, Chucher Sandevo," said Mickoski.

He added that the VMRO-DPMNE candidate in Brvenica also scored a win.

"This was a tough battle and one that went to the wire. The opponent, whose name I do not even want to utter, tried to use nationalistic and ethnic division to his own benefit, but he failed, he has been defeated," said Mickoski.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader listed the municipalities where the party candidates beat the incumbent SDSM mayors - Valandovo, Dojran, Krushevo - as well as in Kochani, Lozovo, Mogila, Makedonski Brod, Rosoman, Rankovce, Negotino, Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, Vinica, Debarca, Konche, Demir Kapija, Probishtip, while highlighting the win in Kichevo.

"The incumbent Fatmir Dehari is in the past, because the people have united, irrespective of religion and ethnicity, against those who dragged the city backwards. This shows we can all unite - Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Roma, Serbs, Vlachs, Bosniaks, Christians and Muslims, VMRO-DPMNE, SDSM and others, around the values that citizens need," said Mickoski.
